I am a Principal Economist at the Federal Reserve Board. Prior to joining the Board, I worked at the Bank of England between 2015-2023. I was a Research and Policy Advisor between 2021-2023, and I also held positions as an Economist and a Senior Economist between 2015-2021.
I am a research affiliate at the CEPR, in the Monetary Economics and Fluctuations and Financial Economics programmes, and a research fellow at King’s College London. I was a guest lecturer at Bilkent University in 2020. I was also a guest lecturer at Howard University for the American Economic Association Summer Program.
I completed my PhD in September 2016 at the Bonn Graduate School of Economics. I was a research scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a year between 2012-2013.
My research develops tools to enhance central banks’ modelling capabilities and understanding of current policy debates. My experience in two central banks has resulted in a broad research background. Recently, I have been working on applying econometric methods to traditional and non-traditional data to investigate consumption heterogeneity across households with different characteristics, the impact of news shocks on business cycles and how exchange rate derivatives are being used by various market participants.
